I hate that episode for making me enjoy an episode entirely about a slumber party. I'd probably also love the shopping episode, too. They all go to canterlot, Rarity just window shops looking for designs, applejack buys a new hat (but then later decides she doesn't like it and puts her old one back on), fluttershy vanishes for the whole day and comes back at the end with far more bags than she can carry, dash is bored the whole day, and twilight just buys books. Spike stayed at home, but is secretly dissapointed he didn't go.

Rainbow Dash's parents, voiced by Weird Al Yankovich and Sandy Duncan, visit Ponyville and are decidedly uncool.

Coincedentially, this is also the day the Wonderbolts are in town, and so Rainbow Dash has to keep trying to hide her parents from them so they don't think she's too dorky to join up.

Hey. One of the best episodes in the whole series was one based around sewing clothes and making a fashion show, so one based around shopping COULD end up being fucking hylarious as well, especially if Pinkie Pie gets near a glassware store with a "you broke it, you bought it" policy.

1-Season one will end on some sort of cliffhanger, leaving the mane cast in Canterlot at the start of season two. They will go back to Ponyville after the season premiere.

RARITY: Actually, this one's been developing all season. Her search for the non-existent prince is a wash, but Hoity Toity, Saphire Shores, and Photo Finish are all at the gala, and these connections allow her to get many nobles interested in her designs. She opens a Canterlot boutique catering to the rich and famous. Sweetie Belle comes with her.

FLUTTERSHY: She has a great time in the royal gardens, but learns that the groundskeeper is retiring, and many of the exotic creatures there need someone to take care of them. Celestia gives her the job of new groundskeeper.

RAINBOW DASH: She screws up her attempt at impressing the Wonderbolts (it's hard to do tricks in a dress) but they remember her from Sonic Rainboom. They offer her a chance to join the elite Wonderbolt training academy in Canterlot. Scootaloo runs away to follow her there.

They all go to Canterlot ot Manehattan to buy stuff they need for their business or what have you and that can't be found in Ponyville's normal stores?
Then they all agree to make it a grupal trip to make the errand funnier. (Spike gets dragged in, Big Macintosh goes with them because he needs to buy some replacement parts for his tools or what have you.)

Once they arrive to the Mall, the girls go absolutely apeshit crazy at the sight of the gorgeous stores and the fancy products on sale (most of them unknown for them) so they agree to split into groups and reunite later. (Spike and Big Macintosh leave together to do their errands, do some windowshopping and end up buying a few trinkets to treat themselves and as gifts for other people.)
The girls, on the other hand, ends up getting derailed, buying stuff they didn't needed, breaking stuff and being forced to pay for it, getting pickpocketed, what have you. Rarity ends up making a colossal tantrum that forces the Mall's guards to seize her, after the unicorn finds a fashion store that copied her original designs (or worse yet, she finds a fancy boutique where her dresses are being put on sale)
At the end of the episode, only Spike and Big Macintosh had a productive day AND fun, since they were the only ones who never lost track of the whole trip purpose, the moral of the episode is about responsability and getting your priorities straight.

While we're talking about fanon, I'd like to remind people that we really have very little basis for what Luna's personality will be, so you should all remember to brace yourselves for potential disappointment when she doesn't match up with how she's been portrayed in fanon! I feel some responsibility for this, since this comic I did probably helped encourage the initial formation of the "sad Luna" fanon.

Also, she's not likely to appear very often. Both of the Princesses basically have to stay in the background of the show, they're too powerful. Plus, I imagine Luna to be a difficult character to write for: what position can she take in the ensemble, what purpose can she serve?

10- The dresses are seen in Rarity's shop. Obviously ep. 14 takes place first.

19-The dresses are still in the shop.

20-Rarity has the dresses on hand for Fluttershy's photo shoot. Later Fluttershy is shown wearing hers, implying that Rarity lent the dresses to her to help with her modeling career.

22-Sure enough, the dresses are in Fluttershy's house now.

Well, Luna is basically in an authority position like Celestia is, but is younger and less wise and more prone to ill judgement. If the normal ponies are "children", being the relateable figures for the show's intended audience, and Celestia is the "mother" or "teacher" figure, then Luna might take the "teenager" position - smarter than the mane cast but still able to make mistakes. So she might serve as an antagonistic authority figure for the purposes of driving stories, as opposed to the benevolent one Celestia is.

So for example, we might get another "oh noes the princess" episode like Bird in the Hoof, only with Luna in place of Celestia, thus increasing the tension since she might not be so forgiving.
