For those of you who were wondering about the weird Fluttershy I posted in the last thread:

Outside of the US, there are special packs called "blind bags" that feature one out of a possible 24 pony minifigures. The five primary molds are based on Twilight, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie. The rest are all recolors of them. Some are based on actual background ponies seen in the show (such as Roseluck and Flower Wishes), some are based on existing pony toys (Lily Blossom), and the rest are all blatant recolors. And one is Fluttershy painted from Rainbow Dash's mold.

And yeah, these are perfectly official.

Hasbro's toy department isn't exactly creative.

I remember the last time I looked up a MLP:FiM thread we were discussing what it'd be like if the cartoon show was actually a live-action television show set in a universe with actual ponies - that is, Twilight Sparkle and the gang were actors and actresses who were actually ponies and who just played their characters on a children's show.

It was fun. I remember pegasii and unicorns weren't actually real (just prosthetics and wire-fu) and Lauren Faust actually existed as their director/producer/woman in charge.

Couldn't agree on whether she should be a pony too or just be the only human in the story and not explain where she came from.

Fanwork isn't the problem. Quality control is. 90% of everything is crap, except for fanwork, of which 95% is crap. As long as we make sure the diamonds shake out from the shit, we should be fine. Fortunately, as complete nerds, we have very discerning taste, or at least /co/ seems to.

It's stupider if you understand why they folded the sword in the first place. It wasn't to get rid of imperfections, it was because folding the sword caused the metal to deform, which creates more grain boundaries on the microscopic level.

More grain boundaries means you have less molecular slipping, which causes the sword to be stronger, tougher, and more efficient at what it does, but it also makes it more brittle. To reduce the brittleness, you have various heat treatment processes.

Anyway, the point is that you're making a fucking stupid analogy.
