You're pretty new to drawing, right?
The human brain is amazingly good at filtering out input, like exactly what a little red pony is supposed to look like. Construction, or deconstruction, takes away all the confusing bits. It's not a horse, it's three balls, and though you have no idea how a horse's proportions arre and can't tell if they're off, you CAN tell if one of your three beach balls are the wrong size.
