05/02/11(Mon)23:28 No.25594275>>25594061 If we're talking logically, Twilight said "Spike didn't have a chance with Rarity." She might have not been referring that she was "out of his league," so to speak, but more referring to the impossibility of the species getting together for obvious physical reasons. Spike is a "baby dragon" after all, so he probably doesn't think things through that much. That, or he's prone to narcolepsy. Twilight was just trying to spare his feelings before he gets too invested in his interest in Rarity.
Of course, overthinking anything is a futile effort in a show like this, one aimed towards children. Given the amount of mistakes in episodes (Cutie Mark Chronicles), I think it's safe to say not a lot of thought goes into the universe. It is, after all, My Little Pony, not the Illiad.
But in overthinking it just a little, I like to think that Celestia is doing her best to subvert the dragons by indoctrinating the young via stolen eggs into pony culture. Because one dragon can destroy cities. She'd rather have dragons feel like slaves to ponies rather than have them realize that one of them could destroy all of pony civilization. |
