I think the real highlights of this episode were seeing the many sides of Pinkie that otherwise were never known or really seen before, giving her characterization an incredible boost.

3. Pinkie's bouffant deflates when her sad-o-meter reaches critical levels.
4. Pinkie's state of mind breaks down dramatically when put under too much stress.

Pinkie's fur slowly going to a darker shade was a nice touch in this episode.
Also there was so much comedy in this one (pinkie's faces when 'talking' to her 'friends' haha) and quite of bit of character development with pinkie, as well.
