Here's a topic: which episode is best to start people off on?

I think the first episode is still best for that purpose. It's definitely not the best episode overall, but it introduces all the characters and the setting, and the plot, with the prologue and the villain and the To Be Continued, helps to dispel any notions the uninitiated might have that the show might just be halfassed girly nonsense like its predecessors. It catches you off guard and makes you wonder what comes after.
