Okay, so probably no one remembers this, but several days ago I came in anonymously requesting something to help me break my writer's block. Specifically I asked for an unconventional but justified soft shipping pair to write something cute about.

Someone suggested Derpy and Showers, and though it took me way too long (in fairness I didn't start right away or even for a few days), and even though it's pretty short, I'm happy to say that actually I failed. I never arrived at the shipping portion and I don't feel like continuing it right now. But I'm moderately satisfied with what came out anyway so I'm gonna post it.

To make the story a little more clear, I went with the fanon (that I came up with) that Derpy's employer is her dad. I also gave him my own stupid name just because I wanted his last name to be Hooves. And I like ATHF as much as the next guy but calling him Boxxy Brown felt weird, so I decided against that name. I also went with Derpy instead of Ditzy Doo or Bubbly Shines or whatever.

Anyway, I may submit this one to the blog if only because it'll be the first thing of mine on there since Blog Brony started taking submissions exclusively by email.

I liked it the first few times they dropped the franchise name in an episode but it seems like now they're trying to do it way too much. It's one of those things that should only happen like, once or twice per SEASON, not episode.

Here's the thing. A Mary Sue is a character that, as written by the author, has no flaws. The character is supposed to be perfect. (that;s not to say a MS can't have flaws, but they usually are only present because the author has them, and the author doesn't realize it)

Twilight has a number of flaws. She's completely socially retarded. That's actually what the whole point of the show is. She also, due to her extreme, almost Vulcan like sense of logic, sometimes misses basic cues and ideas that are the driving forces of the other characters.

Yeah, she's really magically powerful. That doesn't make her a Mary Sue.
