HFPS wrote the epilogue but wasn't happy with it. He just posted it here once, anonymously. Somebody was asking about it in the comments for Reconnection at EqD. An anonymous user posted this synopsis in response, and I'm pretty sure it was HFPS himself:
Princess Fluttershy flies off with Spike into the deep wilderness, not wanting anything to do with ponies any more. Years later, Spike is taking his century long nap. Luna and Celestia have battled to a stalemate, destroying most of Equestria in the process. Fluttershy is alone, except for animals which flock to her like St. Francis. She's approached one day by a handicapped pony. It's an incredibly old and decrepit Derpy. She's had her hind legs amputated due to poor circulation. She's on a little wheeled cart. Being completely senile, Derpy has wandered away from her caregivers and has been lost in the wilderness. Fluttershy is characteristically shy but Derpy sits down next to her anyway. They chat, Fluttershy becomes more and more enlightened by Derpy's words. Fluttershy reluctantly agrees to go back to pony kind, but she won't without Derpy, her new friend, by her side. Derpy agrees, and Fluttershy heals her, rejuvenates her, and they fly off together to dispose of the two sisters and restore Equestria. They leave the little cart in the wilderness. |
