When you draw people in certain sexual poses, intertwined in such ways, you slowly grasp how anatomy works at different angles. Foreshortening, negative space, shadows, all these things come into play, especially when dealing with more than two people. And having clothes on during the sexual act provides even more opportunities for learning (wrinkles etc).
