My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Episode 16 Season 2. (Goodbye, Granny Smith)

Granny Smith is about to die of old age. The entire Apple family gets together to pay their respects to the old lady, and Twilight gets to know how important the old lady really was for Equestria's clans.
The episode culminates with Granny, followed by her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, walking up a hill, where she says her goodbye to everyone, claiming she got to live a long and meaningful life, which she enjoyed to her fullest. Cue for a soft and sad farewell background song that slowly plays while we get to see a montage of her life, culminating with a calm and smiling Granny Smith giving her last breath and slowly turning into a fine dust that is blown away by the wind, causing plants and flowers to grow, healty and incredibly beautiful wherever it lands.
Her family looks at it with sadness but a calm heart, while Twilight cannot believe what she just saw, finally understanding why Earth Ponies are said to have a connection to the land and how they bless the earth by merely existing.
The episode ends with Twilight writing a letter to Celestia where she shares with her what she just learned about the natural cycle of life and death, and how the end of a life is just the beginning of a new one.

I don't come here often so I don't know if there already were topics like this, so sorry if I repeat someone's words.
Today i had a totally free day so I could spend some time in my bed after waking up. And that make me think over... some stuff about the show, by which i mean the general message - friendship.
Tell me, bronies, do you have Friends? And by this I don't mean just some people you know but true friends.
I am generally a person everybody kinda likes. I am kind to everyone, I am here to help in almost every situation, so people basically like me. I know many people, we say "hi" to each other on the streets, I have a bunch of people closer to me, which i guess I could call "friends" but... that's just not it. There is noone out there that would jump into fire for me and there is noone for whom I would jum into fire for. We give each other companion, we meet to have a drink and talk about stuff but... I feel that where there should be a true friendship bonding between us there is an empty void we refuse to fill.
I wonder, are there many of you out there that feel the same way?

It's what happens when you grow up. People start getting their own lives, connections are a little more superficial, you have less "best friends forever" and more "acquaintances". That's adult life for you. Most people get into romantic relationships to (hopefully) fill that void. Ultimately though you're always kind of alone, you can only connect with others so much. Then go talk to the people you see there. Don't wait for them to come over to you. Initiate a conversion.
