Because initially the threads were very different. The style was far removed from the status quo of 4chan.
It was all about survival really. The threads were image capping in 10 seconds flat, equal numbers of parasprites and /b/rnies spamming pictures of gore and ponies. The place was a mess. Lots of trips started and have been going ever since, as new /b/rnies joined the heard they copied what others were doing and made their own trips.
The new trips didn't resemble the classical trips too much though. Whereas during the thread spamming many /b/r0nies had created their own avatar pony using the /co/ pony template and named it in conventional pony style (remember the old copypasta, 'Everypwny loved, everypwny equal, you don't need a trip to be a br0ny, it's just for fun'). It was simply the zeitgeist. The new trips weren't so much about this and with the many bans of the pwnycaust late February most trips were classic 4chan tripfag style.
This in itself became a massive issue with the rise of the Anony wars. Where mainly parasprtes, but some genuinely irate anonies, took offence to the increasingly apparent circlejerks. What was once just part of the fun on pony threads became something of a dangerous evolutionary relic. These debates subsided after about a week with the creation of Anony Friday and harmony has been maintained in /b/questria for generations since. |
