Humans didn't evolve hand in hand with apples, so the apple trees had no need to cater to us. We just found them afterwards, and started farming them. Heck, apple trees aren't even DOMESTICATED, the way animals are.
We don't even breed the trees, we just clone the best ones by using root hormones on cut off branches, to make them grow into a new tree. |
