Well, she did - as a child*, not full-grown, and an orphan besides** - seal away her sister and probably best friend in the moon, then most likely had to curtail close to all of her free time so that she could move the moon as well as the sun, while ruling over a nation full of idiots who practically worship her, while going through divine adolescence.
In all that time, she could never have an equal, probably never a single person she could show weakness to. As she got older and matured, everyone else around her would have seemed to become more and more childlike in comparison, which probably explains why she's apparently never had kids***. Not wanting to offend, needing to maintain her authority, she would have had to watch while more and more formality and ritual built up around her, so that everyone walks on eggshells to be as stiff-necked and polite around her as possible. And every night, when she looks up to move the moon into place, she had to see the mark of her sister on it, reminding her of what she did, and how she had failed.
*(Lauren's DA: Luna is not full-grown, implying that the smaller pink-haired Celestia in the prologue was not full-grown either.) **(Lauren again: reference made to Celestia and Luna having a mother, who is never mentioned in the events around her and Luna) ***(And again: Lauren said that neither Celestia or Luna have had children.) |
