Same poster here. Kaylee = Pinkie Pie (laughter) and Jayne = Rainbow Dash (loyalty), that's who I noticed immediately.
I wondered if the rest were as easy to see, and Inara = Rarity (generosity) and Zoe = Applejack (honesty) were just as easy.
The final two of the mane six were more difficult, but just as obvious once I saw them. According to Wikipedia: "A laid-back guy with a dry and occasionally laconic sense of humor, Wash tends to represent the pragmatic, cut-and-run opinion in any shipboard debate, and often serves as the calming influence in heated arguments. His actions sometimes appear cowardly (or at least less than heroic), but Wash has proven his resolve and willingness to put himself in harm's way and do violence on behalf of his friends on many occasions." That's Fluttershy.
Shepherd Book was two days fresh from the monastery, and what he thought would be an easy journey turned out to be an adventure with a group of people he quickly made friends with. He's Twilight Sparkle.
Then of course River Tam was Derpy; who else could she be? That left Doctor Whoof to play Simon Tam, her brother.
Mal is the central character, a complex and driven anti-authoritarian who runs a tight ship. He doesn't have an analogue in Friendship is Magic, but he does tend to have Spike's humor and lack of self-censoring, so I went with that. |
