Me again.

So I was thinking. I mentioned before about taking donations to add money to the pony fund, as I call it. I started my shoe project with the idea of using the profits to buy Toys for Tots donations. Even though I don't have my shoes anymore, the plan remains the same, I just need to find a new way to go about it.

It seems like quite a stretch though to ask for donations, but that was the only thing I could think of; making a paypal account to save the money, and putting up a paypal donation button somewhere. Problem be though, I don't have a blog or site of my own to put it, really. I know the Blog Brony, not his name but that's how I know him, was on earlier, and the idea that maybe ED could post it came to mind.

I dunno, it's all speculation really. I still haven't heard back from Lauren, so it looks like for now I'm on my own gathering donations.

I wrote something already, but it's on my desktop. I have two things for them.

One, their main city is "led" by a royal family, but they're just figureheads. A point of stability, if you will. It's run by feuding Griffin mob families. Throw the Yakuza, Mob, Mafia, Nuestra Familia, and all those groups in one city, and let them duke it out, Like Roanapur from Black lagoon.

The city itself is built into a cliffside, making it difficult for non-winged species to even get their. It's perpetually wet, like a noir detective story is always being filmed there.

A second, sort of pseudo-joke is that they are like Cuckoos. They are bad parents, and negotiate with Pegasus families to let them raise their eggs. Griffins are big and strong, so having one with your clutch would seem like a blessing in areas outside of demi-deity protection.

Gilda is clearly larger than Dash, who appears to be an average-size female pony. If Griffons resemble lions in terms of body structure relative to gender, we can infer that the average male griffon is significantly larger than Gilda. Thus, the average griffon overall would be quite a bit larger (and judging from Gilda's build, more muscular) than the average pony.

However, Griffons are half-lion, half-hawk (traditionally; Gilda seems to be half-bald eagle). Among most hawk species, the male is about 2/3 the size of the female. In that case, the average griffon would be only slightly larger than the average pony.

We used Rarity for the base, and then took some 100% acetone nail polish remover to take off the cutie mark. The goggles and headphones were made out of Sculpey III and painted with Liquitex Basic Acrylics. To give the goggles a shiny plastic look, he put a few drops of clear nail polish top coat in the center and then let it dry.

I think you do need to remove the head in order to pluck out the mane, but we've been able to take the head on and off for some spot touch-ups without damage to the goggles.

This is our first custom pony, so we're still learning what works :)

Dang, I totally forgot about mules. They would totally work for one of my main cities.

Basically, one of the most important functions of biological creatures is to reproduce. Taking that away from them, they have to find a new way to leave something behind. So they take work and hobbies to the extreme. They get obsessed over leaving something behind that proved they existed, whether it be a mathematical formula or a building.

Unfortunately, being mules and the implications that carries, they tend to get kicked out of the major cities and wind up in border towns. They know how to work, and they work hard for their future, but some people can't see past what made them.
