>>24974228 Spike's feet brought him to a rise in the rugged path, which gave way to a view of a small clearing. The sun shone down amidst the forest canopy, illuminating the emerald grass to a beautiful shine. A small brook lazily babbled out of the treeline toward the far end of the clearing, briefly disappearing behind a lone house, or perhaps more appropriately, a small cabin, whose dull colored roof gently reflected the sun's rays. Spike's eyes brightened at the sight of the cabin. It had been just four short days since he first found the place. That he'd discovered it at all was a small feat in itself. Spike was out and about just seeing what there was to see while Twilight and her friends were off doing whatever girly shmirly things those ponies did, when something white flickered across the corner of his vision. "Huh...?" He murmured as he looked in the direction of the white speck, trying to find what it was that graced his vision. He quickly spotted a single letter lying in the grass a couple steps away. Apparently the local mailpony had dropped something, as the cross-eyed carrier was wont to do. He had tried to get her attention, but by the time he had spotted her, she was too far gone to hear a thing he shouted in her direction. "Aww man, it's my day off, I don't wanna deal with this!" Spike grumbled to himself, "I'll just drop it by the post office quick, I quess." Technically, he should deliver the letter, since he was kind of a mailman. Officially, his only obligation was to mail belonging to Celestia or official Royal Palace business. Today was a day to chill out, so he'd be a bit lazy today. Just a quick check to make sure it wasn't somewhere close by, first. |
