The scene where Fawkes is first introduced is almost exactly the same as the plot of this episode. He starts as a sickly bird in a cage, burns to ashes and returns as a flaming red bird with gold talons, long gold tailfeathers, and a gold beak. The difference is that one is a subtle but important background detail and the other is the main plot of an episode.
