Being of the Internet generation, you’ll probably be one of the first to try out these new bio-gadgets
The implants will grow steadily more invasive or advanced over the next decade, perhaps something like a full implant node which sits in your ocular cortex and can project images directly into your mind’s eye, things you can see even with your mind closed. Audio sensors and speakers will be in your larynx and ear-drum so you can take a phone call without any exterior hardware.
The next decade or two will see a huge spike in advancements. Full replacement limbs you can opt to install which look exactly like your real ones, but perform hundreds of times better. Get rid of your digestive tract in favor of a secondary processing unit which number crunches and interfaces with your brain. Your normal food intake is replaced with nutrient shakes which can taste like anything you want. Full brain interfaces will allow you to interact within virtual spaces and have the experiences seemingly indistinguishable from reality.
Finally, at around 2050 if we’re lucky; full consciousness transfer will become mainstream. it will be possibly to totally upload yourself into a computer system. this is when things get a little weird. |
