>>24753207 As his march continued, the path became more and more rugged, the lack of traffic apparent. A rise in the path blocked Spike's view of what lay ahead, The cabin was a single story, and it was doubtful it had more than two rooms, at least judging from the outside. More so than anything else, however, what stood out most was how... sloppy it looked. The edges of the house hardly looked like they fit together, and there were clearly small gaps between some of the logs. Some of the logs the cabin was made of weren't even fully debarked and smoothed. Scratched into the side of the cabin was a large numeral 'one', apparently marking the address of the cabin. "This must be the place," he muttered to himself, and strode up to the door. The closer he got, the more he noticed a pungent odor emanating from within. He strode right up to the doorstep, which was really no more than a spot of the ground that had been hastily trampled and scratched at, and raised his hand to knock on the door. "Well, here goes," he reassured himself. His knuckles rapped on the door, which gave back a hollow thunk as it began to swing inward. He heard a cough from inside, and a female voice followed. "Achugh, chugh, cghoo, who's there?" it said, "Come on in." |
