basically it's a project for giving each of the main ponies an album of about 20-25 tracks. The last time we tried it, we were looking at an album for the 6 main ponies, Derpy, I think Luna ended up with one out of sheer demand, and then an album for some of the side ponies (Zecora, Trixie, Cutie Mark Crusaders, etc). I don't read Homestuck, but I feel some comraderie with the fandom if only because we both draw ire from /co/.
I hear it's good. People tell me it's good. Sometimes I feel like I should read it, but there's an awful lot of backlog and I'm awfully lazy.
Still, I have no hate for them.

It really helps if you take some water, add some conditioner and just a splash of bleach, then apply to the ponies tail with a q-tip.

the only real homestuck anger I saw was when mods were clamping down on threads. pretty much everyone was sadly quick to go at each other's throats to blame one another for what they though was either the "problem" with pony threads or what they saw was an unfair/uneven application of forum rules.
