I have a problem with the CMC episodes. It's not that I don't like the characters. I think it's the fact that I imagined the original 6 ponies to be younger than they were until the CMC came up and then the original 6 started acting older sister-ish. Now I have to view them as older and mature ponies, which takes the fun out of things slightly. Oh well, I still flippin' love the show, so it's okay I guess..

I hope that "Over a Barrel" could give some lines and character developement to Big Macintosh.
I don't know, the episode could include a Pony and a Buffalo behind of all the problem with the lands, and how they were in cahoots to profit from all the trouble, all while laying the blame on Applejack and a random Buffalo. Then Big Macintosh, after patiently enduring lots of crap and not daring to do jack by fear of making things worse, suddenly plants before the fleeing traitors them and says something like "Somepony oughta belt you two in the mouth. But I won't, I won't, the hay I won't!"
Then the camera switches to the faces of Twilight and Applejack while we only get to hear the epic asskicking he's delivering to them offscreen.

The moral of the story is "Don't fuck with Big Macintosh's kiin."

I am worried that there may be a dearth in Rarity material since she was featured so heavily in the past few episodes. She's byfar the best pony and it'd be a shame if she was excluded to fill some sort of quota.

The best gateway episodes have been up for debate for a while now. Dragonshy is a pretty decent one for setting up the characters, Ticket Master is also fairly balanced in that regard. If I'm honest I always suggest starting from the begining and not stopping untill you reach the end, if you approach ponies with an open mind then you can't go wrong honestly.

I'm glad Faust's remaining professional about the Internet fanbase. Engaging with fans is great!, even if it means we get lumped in with the weirdos that spam her DA with stupid, stupid shit. I don't expect some deep lore continuity from a kids' show - that guy on DA asking questions about an Equestrian creation myth? honestly - and Faust coming out and saying (in a nutshell) that they don't consider continuity beyond making a good story for that episode is fantastic.

Do I like the show for its positive message that doesn't patronise the watching kids and their parents? Hell yes. Some sharp-eyed /co/mrade points out someone added derp eyes in the background of a scene? Cool. What's even better is that I reckon fanon is going to stay that, and that's fine by me.

I'm fairly new to the fandom too. I happened to catch Feeling Pinkie Keen on TV one morning after dozing off during Transformers Prime. I really liked Twilight's naturalistic viewpoint, the hydra, and the way the show doesn't talk down to the young audience.
