I love this, but there's a couple of things that bug me about it.

For one, I was hoping for something a bit more romantic rather than raunchy. Or at least, their dialogue could have been slightly more Shakespearean.

Also - and I might just be picky about this - but I always took Luna for being entirely submissive. That's why she became Nightmare Moon, so she could embrace a more aggressive side. The Hulk to Luna's Bruce Banner if you will.

I think it makes much more sense to watch, Bridle Gossip, Dragonshy, Swarm of the Century, the first two episodes and possibly even Ticket Master before you watch Sonic Rainboom. I honestly don't think I would've liked Sonic Rainboom at all if I hadn't already been introduced properly to the characters and I certainly don't think I would've even cared about Dash meeting the wonderbolts if I hadn't watched Ticket Master and known how much of at big deal it was for her at that time.

While it is by far one of the best episodes, it's certainly not a great gateway episode and it doesn't set up the characters as well, it kind of assumes you already know them and have some sort of emotional attachment already (especially Fluttershy's cheering which for me was one of the best parts)

With me, I watched the first two episodes (gradually, over the span of like a week) and didn't think anything more until a few months later. I decided to watch another episode, since /co/ wouldn't shut up about it. Then I watched the rest of the episodes I had missed and now I hang around the generals and watch it on Fridays. If I hadn't been going to /co/ and had only watched the first two episodes, I never would have watched the rest. So starting someone off with a particularly good episode instead of watching them in order is for the best.
