Episode three-The Ticket Master
Man, they jump into the episodic content quickly, it seems theyve forgotten all about the Mare in the Moon, keeping it simple. I was kind of hoping theyd do this, so im not disappointed. We see more of spike, which im pleased about, he has a kind of sarcastic tongue in cheek attitude i identify with, keeps a bit of perspective on the whole situation. Twilight centralized again, but with the others getting a bit of their own characters quirks in too. Maybe its simply more introduction, i'll bear with it. More gags, but funnier simply because they have little to do with the plot. I was surprised by one thing, especially when Applejack began chastising Spike, the characters interact personally outside of the story itself, giving it a bit of depth thats so rare in cartoons. Its not like watching characters acting out a scene, its like watching them go about an unusual day while the rest of the world goes on around them. At least a little bit like that. The Pinkie song was good, being a musician, its quite nice to hear slightly more complex songwriting in something like this. "Oh no, we are just doing it for the ticket". My love for Fluttershy grows, she's just so amazing. As the first of the episodes, it stands up well. The humor is slightly more snarky and sarcastic with less slapstick, making it look more adult. The acting was impressive, especially Twilights rant at the end. I feel like I can Identify with them a lot more. I really appreciate the little things, like spikes ketchup pot with his hay. It's good, but the impact was less than the first two, but i was expecting this really. |
