Okay so to the people talking about Rough Rider n' shit in the last thread and I mentioned I'd write a fic for it, I need your input.

Like that one dude suggested I'll have it set up around Rough Rider running for mayor against Mayor Mare and Fluttershy getting all into a tizzy about his pro-hunting stance and rigging the vote. Now I'm only in the pre-planning stages 'cause I got a lot of Teddy Roosevelt research I gotta do before I even attempt this thing but here's what I got planned so far:

-Plot will be centered around what I already mentioned

-Rough Rider will be plenty popular for at least most of it (Rainbow Dash will definitely be a supporter) with Twilight and Fluttershy working on Mayor Mare's writhing campaign.

-In the end things will return to the status quo, although I'm not entirely sure how I want to do this but...

-Because of Fluttershy's actions and the fact that I really can't be assed to have this adhere too strictly to what's expected of the actual episodes, I plan for the ending to be a spoof Aesop, if you will, to account for the, I dunno, unsavory? strawman? tones expressed with Mayor Mare winning. Right now I'm thinking of spoofing the letter to Celestia but I dunno.

So, of these, do any of you guys have any suggestions on what I could do--or, at the very least, what I should absolutely avoid--for this fic? Like anything you'd like to see or some glaring pitfall I could easily fall in? Also there'll be no shipping at all.

Twilight-Great, though she is better in some episodes than others. I think "Look Before you Sleep" was Tara's crowning moment there, great variety, and it was adorable.
Pinkie Pie- First 'random' character I actually enjoyed listening too, very active, never grating.
Rarity- Used to hate it, but since Diamond Dogs, she honestly has more vocal range than any otherpony so far. Very impressed.
Rainbow Dash- Suits her personality, but not quite as much variety as other ponies. However, we haven't seen an episode that really called for drastic vocal shifts, so that's probably why. She yells really well.
Fluttershy- Adorable, but it's holding back her VA. With all lines delivered so softly, it's hard to stand out as much more than 'dawww' factor. ...Yay.
Applejack- Well, as a southerner, her accent is forced, but then again, all southerners have forced accents. She's got a very delightful voice, but a lot of the expressions she use aren't always correctly used, and you can tell it was mainly to fit the necessary stereotypes.
Spike- Motherfucking gar.
Trixie- Should have annoyed me, but she didn't. Something about her voice's edge was very interesting. Particularily "NEIGH!!-sayers", which is my favorite line of the series.

OK, now then... Self-titled has nothing of significant value, other than it was published by a different label so it sounds a lot different than their other stuff.

The Silent Circus focuses more on personal experiences with music, and has more depth to the lyrics than the other albums. Plus the hidden track I already mentioned.

Alaska is just a nice mix of prog, metal, and straigh-up rock. Nothing bad, nothing amazing.

Colors is technically one song (you'll hear it) and is considered to be their crowning achievement.

The Great Misdirect showcases how far the band has come as musicians, with a lot of technical and melodic elements mixed with the mathcore tempos and metal sound. It is personally my favorite album by them.

Their next album is slated to be released this year, I think. Now back to ponies.
