The golden necklace with the apple-shaped gem had been sitting in the museum wall of Town Hall since the night before the Summer Sun Celebration. She could swear she hadn't given it a second thought since then. Yet here she was, standing in front of the display case, staring at it.
Applejack had woken up that morning with a desperate urge to go see it. She had rushed through her morning chores, even pinching one of the cows a bit too hard while milking her. But it was worth it. There it was, sitting right beside the other four necklaces and Twilight's crown.
"Omygosh, you felt it too?" The shrill voice of Pinkie Pie squealed in delight as she bounced into the room, still dimly lit in the early morning.
"Yep. I just had to see it again," said Applejack, "Like there's something calling me here."
One by one, her other friends arrived, each with a tale of a strange dream she couldn't remember, and each with the compulsion to come here.
"Twilight," said Applejack, "Could you teleport them out?" She felt a little odd asking for magic to be performed here at Ponyville Town Hall, bastion of the Earth Ponys' hallowed traditions, but she didn't want to wake the Mayor or break the glass.
"I'll try. It shouldn't be too difficult," said Twilight Sparkle, closing her eyes. |
