To go back to the topic of characters blending in, compare that monstrosity with this other pony from that page.

Both would stand out if you slopped them into the background. The difference is while that one is designed to be eyecatching, with everything about him screaming LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME, the other is merely a pony with some tribal tattoos, which actually has some reasoning behind them (she's a traveler who mingles with natives). From what is written of her personality you could lump her into the show and she'd have no more differation then, say Pinkie vs. Rarity.

Not really into ponyfaggotry, but I did want to drop in and say that yes, the method detailed in that ponyfag how-to is pretty much a recipe for some good ol' sleep paralysis.

My boyfriend used to get sleep paralysis a lot and we pretty much identified what exacerbates it - one is lying on your back in a rigid or unnatural position and another is just forcing yourself to sit through uncomfortable hallucinations.

As for if sleep paralysis makes breathing difficult? Oh hell yes. When I was younger, I used to get SP whenever I'd get sick. Several times I thought I was going to suffocate to death. Shit was terrifying.

Anyone who says SP doesn't make you have breathing difficulties has never really experienced it, has experienced it rarely and been very lucky, or is full of shit/confused.

Everybody experiences sleep paralysis, every single night during REM. If we didn't, we'd be acting out our dreams in our sleep. Sleep walkers have a problem entering sleep paralysis. It's entirely beneficial. Some people wake up quickly when they're under sleep paralysis, often during a nightmare, and it can be a scary experience, at least for a couple of seconds before the paralysis wears off.

But no more than any other nightmare. And most people get over nightmares when they're five of six years old.
