Insane theory time.Alright so we know Luna's castle is in the Everfree forest, or at the very least the ruins of it are in it. We also know that Celestia and Luna warred for years, I submit that the Everfree forest is, has always been, and can only be Luna's domain, and as such Celestia and anyone from her kingdom cannot affect it or the weather. Any ponies that lived there eventually died out, and with no ponies to keep them in check the great mythical creatures you see moved in and annihilated the local animals. Essentially it's like a lawless territory, and now that Luna's back she has to take back what is hers, that's where she's been this whole time.

Trip Report:Overall, I really enjoyed this episode. Notibly, a few jokes seemed to be above target demographic, which seems to be a sign that the writers are taking to the fandom. I also liked the way the lesson was delivered - they didn't spell things out too obviously, and even made it into a gag. The pacing was brilliant - I feel like they told several stories in this episode, but kept each of them tight.Most of all, they showed that the Cutie Mark Crusaders are more than just a one trick pony. They work as a team to find themselves, rather than simply torture the older ponies.They took my poor pre-conceptions and twisted them into something I barely recognize, and I loved it.
