When I saw last week's episode I was severely disappointed. Something about the CMC just really bugs the shit out of me. I know they're supposed to be cute, but when I see them, all I want to do is ram their heads into a brick wall repeatedly.

Anyway, after that episode, I had extremely low expectations for this week's, and I have to say... I enjoyed it. There were a few cringe worthy moments, most notably the song at the end, but overall it wasn't too bad. I'm surprised Spike was involved but I'm pretty fucking upset there was no Pinkie Pie. That's two weeks in a God damn row, this is some serious fucking bullshit.

If I don't see Pinkie in next week's episode I am sending someone a very nasty letter.

Derpy is awesome specifically because there are so many different interpretations of her. She belongs to everyone, yet is still canon thanks to the animators loving us and putting her derp eyes in the latest episodes. She's a wonderful example of the creativeness of this fandom.

Luna actually had quite bit of screen time when she was Nightmare Moon. The idea of a pony turned evil by loneliness on a show that is focused on friendship is a pretty intriguing one. Of course people would want to explore it.

See, the problem I have with this is that Luna has several facts about her already known:

1) Bitter jealously over not being appreciated
2) 1000 year imprisonment
3) Remorseful attitude, teary eyed reunion

I like how lots of people not only have their own Derpy concepts, but multiple ones. Here are mine:

1- The one from this old fanfic. Scatterbrained, and speaks in nonsense, but not stupid or insane; just odd. She has many hidden talents.

2- Cosmically aware, she is able to see all possible universes at once, including this one. Her random speech is not random at all; she's just reacting to something she saw somewhere in the multiverse. It makes perfect sense in that universe, but none of the others.
