03/04/11(Fri)05:30 No.23999559Am I the only one here who thinks the pony society is scary as all hell? They've got a ruler that's reportedly over a thousand years old, who has ruled for just as long. What's more, most ponies believe the story behind their ruler's rise to power to be a fairytale. Which means either it's propaganda above and beyond North Korea levels, or the princess has been ruling for so long that how she came to power has been lost over the generations. It's also shown that ponies age, as evident with the Apple family, and presumably die, since the world is not overrun with ponies. Yet the ruler remains unchanged, so if she is 1000 years old she is doing something to prolong her life. (My guess there is body swapping, since she is personally grooming a talented young pony as her 'apprentice').
In addition the ponies have enslaved all other races. Cows and other farm animals are seen as being subservient to the ponies, and the wild animals respond to the whims of the ponies, as opposed to natural instinct. Any creatures that could pose a threat to the pony's rule are banished to the wilds (in the case of manticore, cocktrace, hydra, etc) or from the land entirely (IE full grown dragons). To further cement their power the ponies have taken to enslaving and indoctrinating the more powerful creatures from a young age, IE Spike.
The source of their power comes from their weather domination techniques. It's evident from the Winter Wrap Up episode, as well as in the Sonic Rainboom and Running of the Leaves that there is no nature in the pony kingdom anymore, only the mockery the ponies have put in place. |
