Deep down, Diamond Tiara knows they're not really her friends. She knows they just take advantage of her. But, she always tells herself, being humiliated is better than being alone...

Blues Brush: Always sad, always scared, always in despair. She seems to care for her allies, but they know it's only herself she's looking out for when things get dangerous. Her tears can fill up a room in a matter of seconds and her tales of sorrow can send the happiest pony off the edge of a cliff.

Rainbow Brash: Don't let the name fool you, this selfish coward would use her friends as a meatshield as soon as trouble arises. Always says she'll be the first to go into a conflict, yet she actually stands back and lets the true monsters like Flutterdye and Twilight Doom do the work. One time Doom sneezed and Brash shouted "OUR LEADER HAS FALLEN! I SHALL NOW TAKE UP LEADERSHIP!"

Vanity: Expect her to do something for you? If your worth her time maybe she'll help out, otherwise consider yourself in a world of pain for wasting her time. No matter how horrible her "dresses" are, never utter a word of criticism; the last pony had his eyes and mouth sewn shut.

Flutterdye: the most dangerous pony out of all of them. Her cruelty knows bounds, having almost destroyed all wildlife in Equestria right after Supreme Nightmare Moon took the throne. A bloodthirsty, loud, lustful, conniving creature, she is not shy to murder someone so that she and her Discord sisters can stay comfortable.

And just like not all Cartoon Network cartoons look alike (for instance Cow and Chicken is drawn in David Feiss's personal style and not the "house style") so is furry art not all drawn in the same style, but there is a distinct, identifiable, traceable-to-Bluth style, just like CN's house style (Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo) is traceable to HB.

It's in the details. Let's say a person is sniffing lilacs and daisies and can't tell the difference... it doesn't mean lilacs and daisies smell the same, it just means they smell the same to him. If you can't tell the difference between Bluth's style and say, Mocha Delight's style, well I can explain it to you but it will take very long and it's really not interesting.

Except it's not, the basic direct ripoffs of Bluth are very easy to tell, it's the more subtle "evolution" of the style that's harder to describe. It's really not "just me"... Everyone can tell Feiss's style doesn't look like CN's house style, it's just the more subtle differences between, say, Flintstones and Johnny Bravo that are harder to discern.

I would expect it would be easy to believe an art community, which admits it is influenced by Bluth (fuck it's even on the Wikipedia page for furry -- Robin Hood is an "oft cited example"), draws in a style that is influenced by Don Bluth... but then I would expect it to be easy to see the connection between Johnny Bravo and The Flintstones, which seems to come to a shock to a lot of people.

Yes I've seen a lot of furry art, I also saw a lot of other cartoon art, but nobody argues whether Johnny Bravo is CN style or not. People just argue whether something is furry or not, because trolls love arguing semantics and furries love denying there's a style, just like people on /a/ love denying there's an anime style (and I'll have to mention again that having a style doesn't mean that EVERYTHING looks EXACTLY alike, just that you can identify similar features that are distinct enough from other styles).

The point is, I would gladly discuss the differences between HB and CN style.

As an experienced artist I don't find the FiM style difficult to emulate.

To be honest I just find it a lot of fun. The simplicity keeps you from worrying about nitpicky stuff and you can just focus on making an entertaining shape while drawing.
