There is artwork like the attached that depicts ponies with weaponry, but really the ergonomics of holding weapons in the mouth wouldn't work. Ponies have three offensive tactics: unicorns charging with the horn, seen by TS on two occasions, earth ponies bucking with the hind legs, as AJ often does but also Rarity versus the manticore, and aerial harassment shown by RD.

The only way to add armaments to these would be head and neck protection for unicorns, who probably opt out of melee for magical combat anyway.
