Talking about political. Someone recently had a funny idea for an episode.

Basicly some mining pony (as shout to to the Shetland Ponies, being smaller than most but suprising strong) from the mountains shows up to get some supplies and deliver some mail, and Twilight learns this one is openly criticing Celestia.

Of course she can't accept that as true and during the episode tries to convince her why Celestia is the ruler, only to beginn questioning it herself. The whole episode ends with Twlight starting a vote to see who supports Celestia and everyone, including the mountain one voting for her.

In the end the mountain pony merely likes to use her right of free speech and while she doesn't like the princess she still accepts her as good ruler.

The whole thing being a naive message of accepting different oppinions and that you should sometimes allow people to speak their minds.

So the drama and the autobannings inspired me to watch the first two episodes.

Pros:
-Nightmare Moon looked totally badarse
-Fluttershy's intro was awesome
-"Everypony", "Canterlot" puns etc
-I kind of liked the fact that there were 0 confirmably make characters. Yeah, the dragons had male VAs and pronouns, but they're dragons, who knows.

Cons
- Insulted my intelligence. I god-damn know what imperative and precipice mean.
- Implication that magic is a fundamental requirement of harmony is pretty pessimistic
- Some of the voices irritated me.
- It really is a show for little girls. I'll concede that it's MUCH better than every other show for little girls, but it's still not my thing.

Conclusion: I don't hate this show, but I can't see myself becoming a brony.

Well, I worked up six possible Equestrian armed forces for my ongoing NationStates "fanfic":

The Royal Equestrian Army (REA). Composed mostly of Earth Ponies, it forms the bulk of the Equestrian land forces. Elite members of the REA are sometimes chosen to serve as Princess Celestia's personal bodyguards.

The Royal Equestrian Navy (REN). Also composed mostly of Earth Ponies, it supports Celestia's rule over Equestria's seas and other major water bodies.

The Royal Equestrian Air Force (REAF). Composed mostly of Pegasus Ponies, it works alongside the REA, maintaining air superiority over the battle space through weather control and aerial assault/bombardment. Elite members of the REA are sometimes chosen for Princess Celestia's personal guard and Royal Chariot Service.

The Royal Equestrian Naval Air Corps (RENAC). A smaller service, attached to the REN, it serves much the same function as the REAF, only over water.
