!tedl177Zx2 03/01/11(Tue)17:11 No.23927953>>23927600 This maybe a late reply. Reposting my standard answer to this question (I get tired of typing it up each time):
>Okay, not a troll. What's the appeal? The show is well written and the characters are very endearing. It's not an ironic like, in fact it’s quite innocent in its fun. But it's also clever, funny, there are a variety of references meant for older audience. Also, the ponies are cute. Trust me, you think I'm lying, but you haven't seen them in action. They'll make you smile.
>So you are all obsessed, this must be the greatest thing since sliced bread! Whoa, tone down your expectations. None of us are pretending this is Shawshank Redemption with Rainbows. It's just cute, fun, and we like talking about it. We, ourselves, can't tell you why we love talking about it, we just do. The current theory is that the show's creator is an Evil Enchantress.
>Fine, I'll give it a chance, but I WON'T BE KIND. Where do I start? No brony would ask more. Where to start depends on how much of a chance you want to give us. If you have time, I recommend starting on Episode 1 and watching through 4. That gives you a taste for everything. 1) intro. 2)Weak episode, but concludes the two parter. 3)Average episode. 4)One of the greatest episodes.
But if that's too much commitment (88minutes, less than most movies, you lazy ass), then simply start on episode 4, Applebuck Season. If that show doesn't at least make you chuckle and smile a bit, then this might not be the show for you. |
