The last episode of Friendship is Magic is about Pinkie teaching the CMC to bake muffins.

Then everything fades to black and we get a "Fifty years later" flashforward where Ponyville is an abandoned, dilapidated ghost town much like Chernobyl.

Images show unicorns in protective suits trying to clean up the fallout and then it cuts to ponies telling their stories about that fateful day, while there are interviews with some (obviously deluded) ponies that insist that the global muffin ban is an overreaction.

The cockatrice is a classical monster from mythology, sometimes associated with the basilisk.
Many feel the legend came from the fact serpents would enter a chicken roost to kill the chicken or the eggs, attack the investigating owner of the chickens when they heard the commotion, and upon others finding the body, rigor mortis would be associated with the victim turning to stone.

Why would Fluttershy not be able to control THE STARE or her command voice. I've met animal lovers who don't know how or when to kick in their control mode, but I can't imagine Fluttershy (whose special talent is dealing with animals) would not be able to trigger her Ceaser Milan at will. I know: little girls' show and little girls' stereotypes for interacting with animals, but it just seems weird to me.

That said, I love them fleshing out Everfree Forest and the staredown at the end. And the snail climbing on Twilights face was pure gold.

Who else thought "WTF" at the "sorry SIS" statement by Sweetybell? Also do you realize Twilight would have just stood there, eventually fall over, grow over with moss, sink into the undergrowth, and spend eternity in stone if not for those little fuckers running off to the forest?

Fluttershy runs back home and contacts Princess Celestia, who heads out to the forest to save Twilight, only to end up petrified herself, and never returns. Deciding that it would be too risky to mount another rescue attempt, Princess Luna becomes sole ruler. Over thousands of years, Twilight and Celestia's bodies are buried deep underground, compressed into gemstones, then rise back to the surface, where they are spotted and eaten by an aged Spike.

Ok so last night I was more than a bit hammered during pub golf and decided that Rainbow Dash would make an excellent wallpaper for my phone.
