Sup, bronies. Well, I got the impression there was a lot of trouble with concurrent users last week so I've decided to try something different to help reduce the bandwidth this week. And just like last week, these are in the same 528 x 480 resolution Comcast gives me the Hub. I've decided to nix the raw MPEG-2 TS but I will still upload that to MediaFire however long it takes to upload after the show. I doubt I'll cut the commercials, though.
There are only two streams this time. The first direct stream is a 464 Kbps WMV8 in pretty decent quality. (the server just couldn't handle WMV9/VC1) http://98.225.193.141:8083
Just paste this into Media Player/VLC/whatever and start watching.
Though, keep in mind, I can only support about 7-9 users with this one.
The second stream is the exact same as above only distributed with the P2P streaming service, SopCast. It's something like Bittorrent for live streams.
Just install one of the SopCast clients from here: http://www.sopcast.org/download/ and you should be watching ponies in the same decent WMV9/VC1 quality without the bandwidth limitations of the above! Delete the "C:\Program Files\SopCast\adv\" folder first
Here is the Sopcast URL: sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/109230
Just paste this bad boy into SopCast/Windows Media Player once you have their client installed. If you want to use another video player like VLC, just input: http://127.0.0.1:8902/stream once you have SopCast streaming. You can then pause the video and watch it in the other player of your choice. This is also how how you'd watch it on a Mac over your network. |
