Recently had a brilliant idea for a pair of OC ponies. I know, I know. OC is a terrible idea, but that roleplaying forum for the show inspired me.

First thing I did was ask my little sister for something she liked. Eventually, she came up with playdough. Thus, this.

The first one is a Pegasus pony named Cheeky Chisel. As a child, she would sculpt clouds into beautiful artwork, but every time, they faded away. One day, she discovered the ancient artform of stone sculpture. Enraptured, she badgered her friend (the second OC), an Earth pony named Pledgehammer, to make her a special pair of horse-shoes with chisels on them. With his help doing that and dragging stone from the quarry, the two created their first sculpture together.

So yeah, a BigMacesque Earth pony with a giant sledgehammer in his mouth, and a pegasus with dagger shoes. Solid and faithful, compared to flighty and artistic. And they can both kick ass when the chips are down.
Not sure what they look like, or what their cutie marks are.

As a character, he's a hold-over/continuity nod to the first specials, movie, series where it was implied he was an orphan and had to live with the ponies for survival.

In FIM, he seems to be Twilight's personal assistant or maybe even adopted little brother/son (she seems to mommy him a bit). Where his parents are and why he's with Twilight hasn't been officially explained yet.

Only after her preparations were complete did she retrieve the carrot from its hiding spot.

I'm going to go with Rarity. The Doctor has historically picked plain Jane ordinary women with ordinary lives who very few people would actually miss while they're gone, with just the right amount of adventurous spirit. Applejack and RD are too important, Fluttershy's too timid,Twilight would be far too eager, and Pinkie Pie would just be a disaster. However Rarity's said her shop isn't doing so well, so having it close down for a few days a week wouldn't be a huge deal.

Watch some of the episodes and decided for yourself if you like it. Us telling you what we like will only color your opinion. The first two episodes are generally considered weak by a fair portion of the fan base so while they set up the characters and the "story" you might want to go a bit further into the series. So today, I was working on a website for a client, and they had requested a feature for the company catalog that when you click the thumbnail or a "Read More" link on an item, it pops up a full-sized photo and a longer description. Since they hadn't sent a mockup, I made a very basic photo-and-caption thing with Fancybox, just to have something that technically worked. I posted a link to this "alpha" on the project management site, asking what they wanted changed.

Short time later, I got a reply saying it "looks good", with no further suggestions. And I was like, they can't be serious. I had half a mind to go ahead and redo it with a better design anyway, because it really didn't fit the layout at all. Not even charge for it, just do it off the clock before the site has to go live.
