For a cheesy 80s cartoon, I have to admit I like how it actually has a few overarching plots.

What the fuck kind of shit was the moral of "Feeling Pinkie Keen? Was the lesson really "science doesn't work, have faith in things without explanation instead"? I can't fucking believe that was the lesson. It goes against everything I think about the world and the lessons that should be taught to children. Fuck I am pissed. I was loving this show so much, and now this episode has kind of soured it for me. I know the people here aren't watching it for the morals, but I loved that the overall lesson seemed to be that you can be a bookish nerd and still have friends. It this is the kind of stuff that gets aired, then how long before there are episodes about how twilight should stop reading so many books, or stop trying to understand magic, or stuff like that. Ughhh, I think it I'm going to have to make myself forget this episode ever happened before I can get back to enjoying the show again.

I'd love to see a season 2 episode bring Gilda back. Showing that Griffons are a lot meaner than pony folk and that she's made fun of a lot for being to soft. She's goaded into playing pranks on ponies for others amusement. Which she's all for with Pinkie Pie, but slowly they get her to try playing a potentially dangerous prank on Dash, she'll refuse and they'll do it to her instead. Rainbow Dash comes to help her out of the situation, with the help of the rest of the ponies, which just gets Gilda even more embarrassed.

Rainbow Dash, has had enough of this, and challenges the biggest, meanest griffon there to a game of chicken. They back up and charge at one another, neither will alter course, at the very last second Rainbow Dash kicks it to the Sonic Rainboom and the shockwave blasts the much larger Griffon head over heals. In the end Gilda and Dash make up, and Gilda promises to try and behave better next time she visits.

Oh, and the Spike/Big Mac episode. But that just goes without saying.

Feeling Pinkie Keen had neither an anti-science nor pro-faith message. Rather, the message was, "you shouldn't dismiss an idea just because you don't understand it," which is what the scientific method is all about. Twilight's mistake wasn't demanding empirical evidence; her mistake was dismissing Pinkie's predictions out of hand. Note that Twilight "caved in" after she had seen enough evidence to justify believing in it.
Faith and religion are tangential issues, at best. The episode was about keeping an open mind about things that don't fit with your current beliefs.
Ironically, this is precisely what some of us are doing by overreacting to a perceived attack on our personal beliefs by My Little Pony.

I would like to interject for a moment,

in the rare occurrence of me coming on this board, it would always leave me in a content if not good mood. Real discussions actually happen regularly on this board, including the MLP threads.
When the MLP threads started to appear here I was pretty much open to everything, so I watched it and got hooked on it. The threads caused me much joy.

Now I've began to notice there are threads on /b/ also. I can honestly say the "/b/ronie threads" I've watched are filled with people with a disgusting "higher than thou" attitude, almost all have a tripcode and have made their own ugly attempt at an original pony matching their trip. Attention whoring is generally accepted there, from what I've noticed and I just can't stand the way they talk, as if this is a personal blog.
It boils down to meme spouting tripfags calling everybody who doesn't like MLP newfags, as if watching it makes you a supposedly "oldfag".

I usually try my best to help anons, I don't label in "oldfag" or "newfag", self proclaimed oldfags tend to be rude. Can somebody give his/her honest opinion of what I just stated?
I don't ask for anything, I just wanted to speak my mind for once. Also thanks for everything, this board and it's people always bring me joy.
