There is honestly NO benefit to giving yourself a tripcode, regardless of whether you put out original content. First and foremost, it directs attention away from what you're supposed to enjoy (the work) and towards someone who shouldn't matter in the whole equation (the creator). I'm not stupid, I know my work sticks out like a sore thumb. But not everyone knows, at least at first, so the attention goes towards the drawings. I don't expect praise or attention, it's a there it is, take it or leave it kind of deal. Second, how insecure do you have to be to put on a trip so people know you did something and that someone else may have stolen your shit? It's fanfiction and fanart for christ sake. You can't even argue for organization. Hello? Four threads at once? The general image being stolen by trolls? You guys are less organized than ever, which is to be expected as more fans crop up and more threads and activity spawns.
No one's gonna steal your shit, you don't need the praise or attention, and shit won't magically become more organized. All of you with tripcodes, grow the hell up. |
