Am I the only one that didn't like Stuck? Not because of the self-insert subject matter, but because the writing sucked. The prose was awful, the dialogue stilted, and it never went anywhere. Lucid even admitted to dragging it out, just to get more people anticipating the next release.

It's an adventure story. Have you ever read an adventure novel that never got slow at some points? It's not just some 3-page shipfic that you can jot down in a few hours. Soemtimes drawing out a story helps reader get into the story deeper and expand the plot, which he said he was doing.

In-character is very difficult to get down correctly. Lucid said himself that he hasn't written anything in about 5 years, so i can't blame him for it being a little meh. He said he was going to improve, which at what progression so far, he has.

the next chapter was supposed to be Canterlot with Celestia. but since we just LOVE to use Lucid as a punching bag as an example for self-insert fics, I think we'll never see it.

Rewatching Sonic Rainboom, I noticed a neat detail... when Rarity hovers she bobs up and down, unlike pegasi. Her wings are anchored further back on her body than pegasus wings, so it makes sense.

I am glad that the developers of the show where brave enough to introduce a lesbian pony as a part of the cast, but it seems as being a lesbian is the dominating character trait for Rainbow Dash. It's not that i dislike homosexuals or that I don't think they should have a place in the cartoon, but I think I would have preferred if they had toned down her sexual preferences a little.

Oh man that's too funny. But yeah, it's not like we draw it for wank material(okay well I'm only speaking for myself) it's more like you can only stare at cutesy kid show stuff for 14+ hours a day every day without snapping a little. LOL It's kind of cathartic to draw on-model stuff of cute characters who are doing shit they'd never actually do.

I used to draw really grimdark Ruby Gloom stuff on production, like Ruby killing everyone. I heard some crazy stories about the crew on the old CareBears show. And everyone's seen the Rugrats storyboard jam!

I know a fair amount of animators IRL who go on 4chan, whether it's in /toy/, /co/, /tv/, or /x/. No one admits to going to /b/ but I'm pretty sure some of them do. Animators are people too, and a lot of them are less hung up on shit than other careers. I mean, fuck, we make cartoons!

I'm really enjoying this so far, it'd make a really interesting episode. Maybe even a two parter! I get each ponies motivations, sometimes I felt it was pushing their character traits to the extreme like Dash getting pissy over being bossed around but thinking on it, it never went too far to be out of character.
