 Man the more I keep thinking about it the more I want it. A four player, side scrolling beat em up. Remember the Simpsons beat em up and the charm it had? Same thing here. I think I'll even start drawing stuff to sort of explain the concepts.
Basically, choose from six ponies to go through locations such as Ponyville during a stampede, the Everfree Forest at night, the majestic Cloudsdale, and so on, until you fight Nightmare Moon in the last level after she creates eternal night.
The Pegasus ponies can slowly flutter down after jumping and have good juggling moves, the Earth ponies can jump longer distances and have the most power, while the Unicorns have average power but also magic commands.
The environments would be highly interactive, enemies would vary widely, and many of the moves and things seen in game could be references to episodes and things that make the characters iconic. For example, Pinkie Pie's idle animation may have her glance at the player if you let her sit still long enough.
