I have two ideas for episodes.

"A Tree Grows in Fillydelphia" (Could be a two parter) - On an assignment from Princess Celestia, Twilight and Spike must spend a week visiting the city, with Twilight becoming homesick. It's up to the residents to make her feel at home.

"A Bird in the Hoof" - After accidentally ruining one of Fluttershy's important duties, Rainbow Dash tries to make it up to her by helping out with taking care of the animals. She ends up becoming attached to a sick hummingbird.

Some musings on Equestria.

What fascinated me about Sonic Rainboom (besides Rarity's stage outfit) is the insight it provides into the cosmology of Equestria. We've been told all along that the Princesses raise the sun and the moon; this suggests strongly that the Equestrian system is geocentric. Now we see that the sun is actually within flying distance, and within the atmosphere. We don't know exactly how close Rarity came to the sun, but maybe a little trigonometry combined with an estimate of Cloudsdale's size could get us there? Maybe not, though, because the sun looked pretty big behind her, but was acting like a point source. Someone pointed out that she falls for 50 seconds, which puts her at about a mile high, though.

What strikes me is that if the sun is that low, the world has to be quite small, or else the day would be uselessly short. Of course, if the sun rising is a daily event, something Celestia does just after getting her morning coffee, the world could very well be flat.

Ponyvile definitely seems kind of medieval - single level shops and houses, lots of farmland and undeveloped forrest.

Cloudsale is a step up, modeled on the Roman Empire. Lots of complicated public works, stadiums, probably better technology.

How about an episode about Fluttershy and Angel, where we learn that Angel doesn't exist. The real Angel was a baby bunny that Fluttershy was taking care of that got sick. She loved the baby with all her heart and formed a motherly bond with it, becoming desperately attached. Though she tried everything, the bunny never got better and eventually died while she was holding it. The event was traumatic to her that she put it out of mind and pretended it never happened. In her conciseness, the rabbit was still alive and grew up in to the Angel we've seen. Her devotion to her dear bunny is still so strong that it dominates her will to the point that she takes advice from him and lets him control her.
Any interaction that Angel has had between the other characters is nothing more than Fluttershy's fractured imagination.

What Celestia doesn't want you to know:

Equestria's star is long dead. The "Sun" is actually an immense orbital construct, responsible for keeping the planet habitable. Its essentially a massive space station able to plaster portions of the planet in artificial sunlight. The "moon" is another such construct, but its precise purpose is unknown.

Long ago, Celestia and Luna discovered the ruins which housed the primary ground side controls for these stations, and the means to operate them. It was built into a mountain side to protect it over the long years, and the sisters built Canterlot over this ruin. Celestia and Luna make a show of their "godly" powers by raising the "sun" and "moon" each day.

The star that Planet Equestria orbited collapsed into a singularity over 1000 years ago. Right before so, a massive solar flare was released and shattered the moon. In order to keep the planet from freezing over (and to keep the tides in line), two god-ponies, later known as Celestia and Luna, had to make their own artificial sun and moon to stabilize the planet. A consequence to this is that weather and seasons now have to be changed manually.

I have a question: In one of the episodes, the ponies make shocked and bewildered comments to Twilight that the Evergreen forest works all by itself, without ponies. Twilight gives them the same sort of glance you would give give some country yokel who asks you in genuine curiosity whether they actually sell vegetables in the big city when there ain't no farms around to grow them.

Considering her annoyed glance, is Ponyland the only place where ponies have to actually help nature along? Is Cloud City (I'm new at this; how many times has the Lando Pony joke been made?) pony-powered simply because it is in the airspace of Ponyland? How far away do we go before nature regains control? Well, I was working on the assumption that the cartoon itself was worksafe, so ponies aren't eyeballin' each other's asses too often. 1. Magical Girl shows (Mahou Shoujo).

They started as shows for little girls (~6-12 years old). However, they also developed a small following among young men (~15-30). This led to many shows being made to try to serve both demographics.
