I liked it. Too many rules in normal flight school, so Rainbow Dash is all "fuck that" and gets a job in Ponyville.

It would be like if Maverick in Top Gun had a responsible person for a captain, who told me he was fucking gone for causing an international incident and disobeying orders, instead of sending him to SCHOOL FOR COOL DUDES WHO ARE 100% HETEROSEXUAL, BRO. One thing I liked about this episode was how it was Rarity's generosity and desire to help Rainbow, when the others didn't even notice there was a problem, that got her involved. And then you have Rainbow Dash immediately abandoning her planned routine to save Rarity. The Pony of Loyalty indeed.

This might just be post-first-viewing euphoria, but I think this was the best episode thus far. Just AWESOME .

Only two problems:
1) The transition from the ponies' original plan (everyone gets wings) to their secondary plan (Rarity gets wings, everyone else just gets a cloud-walking spell) made complete sense, but because it happened off-screen it seemed a little cheap.

2) The fact that most of the episode took place in a new city with a lot of big crowd scenes highlighted all of the stock-ponies and color-swapping. I understand - the show is produced very inexpensively, even for a kids show, so this isn't an indictment of Faust or the production team - but it also seemed cheap.

Still fantastic, though.

So tonight I had quite an experience. I've only known about the show for a couple weeks and completely fell in love with it when I watched it. So about a week ago I learned that McDonalds had pony toys in their happy meals and didn't really think much about it until Tuesday. I went in to the closest McDonalds and decided to get whatever toys they had, hoping for one of the main six, especially Twilight! They only had one kind left, Celestia. I snatched her up and left.

I procrastinated for a few days thinked they would all only have Celestia until I learned about the customer satisfaction boxes so after watching the new episode I decided to go searching tonight to see if I could find them all! I walk in to the Mcdonalds and see Barbie posters up. :( Slightly disheartened I ask if they have any ponies left. All they had was the under three toy which was Scootaloo. That was a pleasant surprise as I didn't even know they were giving her away but she wasn't one of the main six. She was also a G3 pony which I didn't really have much interest in. I got one because, why not, and ate some food (THEY HAVE SHAMROCK SHAKES AGAIN :3) and decided to check a couple other local Mcdonalds.

The next McDonalds I went to had nothing at all... At this point I had given up getting them all. I just wanted at least one of the main ponies. I went to another and they also had nothing left. :( I was starting to drive home in defeat when I remembered another McDonalds. The last one that was anywhere near me. I drove a bit out of the way and stopped in. Asked if they had any or any from they satisfaction box. They checked for me and they had one left in the wayback box and got it for me.

Not only was it not Celestia, or Scootaloo or even Cheerilee, it was Twilight! :3 I got really excited and left happy.

I didn't get them all but I managed to get Twilight, my favorite! :3
