Here's the big question, in my mind.

We all know that Rarity isn't going to have her wings at the END of the episode. So what are the parameters for her getting them in the first place? Does TS cast a spell that gives wings to her for an hour, or a day, or some other expiration date? Or is the spell permanent (unless reversed by the caster), and Rarity decides at the end of the ep that she doesn't want the wings anymore? Or does the town vote that TS reverse the spell, despite the fact that Rarity wants to keep them?

The possibilites abound.

However during the struggle a forbidden spell that accelerates and burns out the target was used on Celestia. It was all part of The Great and Powerful Trixie's scheme to get rid of those more powerful than her.

Celestia knows she is dieing and invites Rarity to stay with her since it is Rarity's birthday. Celestia's gift for Rarity is a serum that bestows the user with all of Celestia's powers and none of her weakness for 24 hours.

Then try really saying the lines out loud to yourself. Mimic the character's emotional state, too, if you can. In a way, act it out. Imagine how the character feels. What reaction would be appropriate? Be detailed. Don't just think "she's angry." Think more along the lines of "she's incredibly hurt, feeling unloved, and is lashing out at the people who care about her most." It takes practice, but soon you'll do it without thinking.

Twilight and Trixie are my favorites, but it doesn't hurt me to say that I don't think Twilight is really as powerful as most people are lead to believe. At the start of Boast Busters, Spike referred to all of Twilight's spells as "tricks". When you look at what Trixie was doing (materializing fireworks, flowers, etc), Twilight wasn't any more impressive with her own magic.

Twilight versus the ursa minor on the other hand is pretty debatable. Twilight did say she read up on ursa's before she got there, where-as Trixie didn't know what the hell to do to stop it and had no time to prepare herself. If she did, would she have been able to accomplish the tasks needed to defeat it? It's questionable.

Twilight also didn't do much to defend herself from the hydra either. She seemed just as helpless as Trixie was when the ursa minor was towering over her. Twilight even resorted to driving right into the hydra as a desperate final attempt to live. If she was truly so powerful, I'm sure she'd have thought up something, right? Resorting to Rainbow Dash derp logic to handle a situation means Twilight was totally helpless. Batman plot armor didn't really come into play in that episode for her.

Okay, let's see...

She doesn't know much about the world, but she's very interested in learning new things and carefully considers information she gains.

She is somewhat energetic. Not to the extremes of someone like Pinkie Pie, but she generally tends to be active and enthusiastic about things.

She is interested in meeting new people of all shapes and sizes. She's encountered a variety of strange creatures, so even if someone looks scary or monstrous, she won't be put off by their appearance before she gets a chance to know them.

She's really only been in wilderness areas so far, not cities or anything like that. So a dark, spooky foresty area would be appropriate.

Her culture worships the Moon.

So, putting that all together... It might fit to have her somewhere in the Everfree forest, befriending a scary monster. Or doing something nice for Princess Luna.

Twilight has insane power lurking inside her; she can materialize objects from nothing, possess lower creatures, teleport, telekinesis, and now apparently cause shapeshifting. She's honestly a god-tier wizard, the best of the best, that's why she's studying directly under Celestia.
