Are you joking? The audience loved Trixie. They were all cheering her the whole time. The audience still cheered her when Trixie was putting the hecklers in their place. That was an enjoyable little short, got a smile out of me at the very end. I really like this expanded side of the two characters where Pinkie is a loveable thorn in their side stressing them out all the time. That said, I think sometimes the occasional use of informal language to describe a character's mood is a little disconnecting. Like when you say "To hell with it", it feels like you're speaking for the character. And maybe that works I'm no writefag but I dunno perhaps you could use a different method of conveying emotion in Mr. Cake.

Both pieces are very solid and well written. Good work. A couple of spelling errors in the first piece. Misused semicolon in the first paragraph of the second piece.

The first one is pretty much exposition. Could be a bit too long, but it depends on how big the whole story is overall. The second piece doesn't have a whole lot of plot; you're pretty much just torturing Derpy over a couple thousand words or so. Again, how effective it was will depend on how it fits in with the rest of the story; this is just an opening act.. I wouldn't have killed the pet.

Well if we don't pick apart every little detail in this show, how else can the anti-Trixie neighsayers come up with reasons why Trixie was a bad pony and was in the wrong for her actions when she clearly was not? It'll probably be an allegory about cultural appropriation in a multi-racial society. We can all see that the unicorns are the ruling caste of Equestria - they live in Canterlot with the Princess, are members of the Royal Court, etc. Pegasi seem to form something of a protected military minority, like the Cossacks in Imperial Russia or the Sikhs in British India. They're not a part of the mass working class of the Earth Ponies, but they don't wield the political authority of the Unicorns.

So when the Unicorns conspire to appropriate the unique culture of the Pegasi - even when no harm is intended - they are committing an act that has, on the most basic level, some kernel of political and cultural aggression. They are using their political and social power to rob the Pegasi of their uniqueness.

Plus, for a member of a royal court to be sent to some little town far from the capital would be the equivalent of exile. Twilight clearly has a good relationship with Celestia so that can't be the case.
