I've focused heavily on science, particularly biology, all through undergrad and my Masters, and I agree that Twilight was being narrow-minded (and sadly, being a bit of a dick), scoffing at the variables and results (tail twitches = something falls) just because she doesn't believe them, which is something that you don't do in science. We accept that there are things we don't know yet. We can try to figure them out, but we may never do so. And that's okay.
The worst thing I can say is the moral at the end was a bit confused, and put me off a bit, but I understand better what Lauren was trying to do after reading her responses. I hope she doesn't feel too bad. Mistakes sometimes happen. Hmm, that sounds like a good "letter to Celestia" for a future episode... |
