Yeah, I only found out about this show because of /b/. Before that I wasn't on /co/ since around early 2009 and I completely stopped watching cartoons. I figured /b/ was just fucking around and I started coming here and watching some of the cartoons I saw and MLP was one of them and I really liked it.

Not exactly. I'd argue that it's equally naive to think that there is life just b/c the universe is so big. Ultimately, the size only means there's a greater number of potential areas capable of supporting life compared a smaller universe.

I'm not sure why everyone's so concerned with Lauren's deviantart. Reading through 4 or 5 pages of comments, all of the people who have pro-skeptic messages are posting thoughtful, polite summaries of their concerns and are stressing how much they like the show. I mean, when this is one of the ruder comments:

First, it was great to see Twilight move on from just reading facts out of a book to actually performing scientific experiments and observations on her own. Even after enduring multiple setbacks, she continues to seek out the truth behind Pinkie's power. But by the end of the episode, it feels as if her scientific endeavors brought her nothing but injury and that she should have believed in Pinkie and faith to begin with. He was only one of the several co-writers of the movie, which was already destined to be built on a shitty foundation regardless of who worked on it and was involved with other shit that was doomed from the start.

Up until The Buzz on Maggie (which he created), he was working ONLY on shit that was beyond saving and wasn't a leading or major staff member on any of the projects he's been involved in prior. Not even the best writers in television and film could make Scary Movie 2, Angela Anaconda, and The Cramp Twins watchable.

I hate the Scary Movie series as much as the next person, but if you're going to call out a writer on the single episode he has written for the series, at least try to bring up stuff that's not a decade old. You can also blame Lauren for this episode seeing as how it was her and the staff's idea for the concept of the episode and they never planned a lesson to be tied in. It's not like Dave just moseyed on in the office and written an episode by himself. He had to work with other people's ideas as well and follow strict guidelines.

TL;DR A decade-old movie is not relevant in 2011 and he would have had gotten green-lighted by other staff members for his ideas and incorporate theirs as well. This witchhunt is stupid and you're all stupid.

To be honest, I had no problem with the Pinkie Keen episode until the end. I thought it was pretty funny with Twilight unsucesfuly trying to figure out Pinky Pie's abilities, but at the end I did went a little Mad.

But here Pinky is literary converting Twilight to her ideals, she's not making her accept them she is making her think like her.

Twilight was being a bit insufferable and a total know-it-all. She deserved a bit of it, but not NEAR as much as what she got. It felt worse because they show that her injuries weren't just slapstick, you see her in casts, bandages, black eye, etc. I don't know, it's because this show has more soul then say, Tom & Jerry; you actually feel more for the characters to actually kinda feel bad for them. But yeah, disproportionate retribution was definitely clear in this episode.
