I had a dream the other day where I was wandering around this gigantic hotel. It might have also had a hospital built into it, or maybe I wandered out of the hotel and into a hospital.

And I was being chased by someone, and I had like a bleeding arm, and needed to get to the roof for some reason.

Anyways, halfway through whatever it was I was doing, I ran into the six main ponies and helped them navigate like the Authorized Personnel Only hallways. At that point it felt like I was watching an episode, or playing a video game; I wasn't interacting with the ponies directly, and I don't even think any of them even said anything. But they were there.

Also, one of the people whose videos I like on Youtube may or may not have made a cameo appearance.


I think there were like generic evil guys in evil uniforms, too. Like rent-a-cops or maybe soldiers. It was weird.

I don't normally even remember my dreams, so I don't know what to make of this one.

Come up with the story first. You don't want to start writing and then come up with the story.

Once you have an idea, the actual sitting down and writing part should be easy.

I'm similar to you. I always have ideas running through my mind, but it's just hard to start writing them on paper. But I tend to get a little distracted and start another fanfic before I'm done with the first. Then I start another one, and another one, and another one, until I have a ton of unfinished fanfics just sitting there. For the MLP fics, I'll be doing my best to keep focused on whatever fic I'm writing.

Fluttershy and Twilight are walking down the street when suddenly a fucking STAMPEDE comes out of nowhere. Fluttershy gets separated and ends up getting pulled into Rarity's boutique. Fluttershy tells Rarity that Twilight is still out there, but Rarity reminds Fluttershy that Twilight can use magic, so she's probably fine. Rarity talks to Fluttershy, trying to get her to open up, but she just sits there shyly. Rarity gives up and starts sewing a dress and Fluttershy notices she's doing it wrong and offers to help. The two start talking and having fun making dresses and Fluttershy decides she'll stay for a sleepover. The next morning, they talk and eat breakfast and Fluttershy tells Rarity she has to leave to tend to some animals. Fluttershy exits, happy and enthusiastic about finally being able to open up and get past her shyness. While walking down the road, she see's Twilight's mangled corpse being pecked apart by a bunch of buzzing buzzards. She just laughs and skips off into the sunset.

I rarely edit my stories. I'll fix typos and whatnot if they're pointed out to me while I'm working live in google docs. I really don't put that much importance in them to go back and redo it if something comes up post hoc.

I rarely get serious criticism for my stories. When I do I'll apply lessons learned in the next story. If the critic is just dead wrong, I'll just laugh in his face. Kind of like Lucid did in this thread.
