I have to admit something /co/,

The horns on the unicorns bother the fuck out of me. Horns should be white, to show that they're made out of bone. Since they color the horns in the same color as the pony's fur, it looks meaty, like some kind of tumor. It looks find on rarity, but all the other unicorns look like they have face growths.

So, who actually said that the marks have nothing to do with their magic?

Because, even though I'm not done with watching up to the most recent episode, it seems they are, at least the unicorns. Trixie's mark looks like an old-fashioned stage magician's wand with and her power is centered around stage magic. Rarity's is three gems, and her powers involve fashion, and jewelry, is a big part of that. Twilight's is a rather large sparkle, which is a stereotypical indication of magic, with her specialty being magic itself.

My thought on it is that they all do have some magic and it is based off of their marks, but for everything but the unicorns it's a general boost to their specialty. The horn acts as a focus for that magic.

I predict that I'm gonna get called retarded without anyone refuting my claims. Prove me wrong.

You're thinking of antlers, not horns--they're different structures.

An antler is a temporary bony growth. When it's growing, it's covered by a layer of skin, or "velvet". Antlers still in velvet, though, are sensitive to the touch and couldn't be used as a weapon (which we've seen Twilight Sparkle and Nightmare Moon do).

Horns, on the other hoof, are made of compacted hair. A unicorn's horn should be the same color as her coat, since that's the color of the hair the horn would be made of.

The Wonderbolts all had storm cloud or storm cloud with lightning trails.
They have referenced pegasus ponies being on weather duties (Look before you sleep).

But as Fluttershy demonstrates, they aren't ALL weather ponies. So I just assume most but not all of them are.

Eugh, yeah. That kind of super detailed hair is REALLY hard to make it not look "flashy". It would have to be in a zillion little parts, which would make it a lot more time consuming to animate.

At any rate, why are all these toys coming out of characters not in the show? I posted about it and some of the animators were saying they wanted Luna and Trixie toys too! It's sad, Hasbro could totally make a killing if they sold characters from the show.

Hasbro has always come out with a ton of ponies that may or may not be in the show. It's just what they do. Think of it like the way they make a shit-ton of transformers that are never in the cartoons, only with ponies.

I believe that when they first announced G4 at the MLP convention they said that they were going to make at least 40 characters/toys for the line.

I use photoshop... my line quality isn't so great, I wobble a lot on my crappy old tablet, so I try to draw large, then shrink it down.
