Okay you guys, I'm asking you guys a question since I'm not sure /toy/ is ready for the Pony.

I want to buy like three or four of the pony toys. I do not want to buy every single one. First of all, I already collect enough toylines, I don't need another. Second, I don't need a bunch of ponies all over my house scaring people who come over.

The issue is that I can't think of which ponies I'd want to buy. Some of the pony toys have big issues that need solving. Applejack's lack of hat, for instance. And most of the ponies need hair styling.

Compound this with a lack of clear-cut favorite ponies on MY part, and I'm kind of uncertain what to do.

So, as someone who likes ALL of the main characters (and most of the background ponies) enough to consider buying toys of them, who makes the cut? Remember, I'm thinking just three or four.

-Twilight Sparkle is one of my favorite characters, but her toy is all kinds of inaccurate.
-Pinkie Pie is awesome, and her toy looks good, but I'd be disappointed in a static "just standing there" Pinkie.
-Rainbow Dash is probably my second favorite, but the toy has weird girlie eyes that the show version doesn't.
-Applejack has no hat. I'm not buying the stupid farm playset.
-Rarity is probably the most accurate, and this last episode made her WONDERFUL, but I think I like the other characters more than her.
-Fluttershy is always adorable, but the toy kind of looks like it has the downs. Plus, again, the other characters are usually more interesting than her.

Also, I'm buying Cheerilee because she's totally radical.

I think it's ridiculous that they put in the extra manpower to design the new toy characters.

I mean, think about it. The toys are all basically the same body, so it's just color, hair, and butt-symbols, right?

The guys working on the show end are already coming up with appealing color schemes, to be put in the show.

Why would Hasbro pay a second group of people to come up with different color schemes to be made into toys? The bulk of the work is already done, and the little girls might enjoy finding their little toy ponies in the background.

This isn't even considering us and our ridiculous obsessions with background ponies. I mean, there are fucking millions of Thomas the Tank Engine and Cars toys, and I KNOW that in the latter case, a lot of those Cars toys were in the movie.
