02/06/11(Sun)22:41 No.23254862>>23254682 While I'm at the point where you are an obvious troll, I will respond at least with this: Homosexuality is not a switch you turn on and off. I know this personally. I would go in to that, but not only is it not my point but it's a boring story. Homosexuality is something a person is. Many go through their whole lives not knowing that they are gay. Their marriages struggle, their lives and work suffer, all because there's just something wrong that they can't find out.
If Dash is gay or not doesn't really matter. The patterns that she represents, however, are consistant with the stereotype of a beautiful lesbian woman. There are little girls out there who are in fact gay. Even if Dash herself is straight, these little girls can pick up on this and use her as a role model. Just because she acts a little different doesn't mean she's a freak or a monster. She's just a girl. And she has friends who love her (friendship love is different from sexual love.)
Even if Dash is straight, which in the long run doesn't fucking matter because it's a cartoon, she can represent someone normal to these people, both male AND female, who are constantly told by society that they are vile creatures who deserve to die.
THAT is why Dash being a potential lesbian is such a huge deal. |
